Founded in 1986, Project Lazarus is the oldest and largest agency in the greater New Orleans metropolitan area providing housing and assisted living to people with AIDS. In addition to housing, services include 24 hour personal care, prepared meals, medication assistance, case management, social services, transportation, pastoral care, and recreational activities and outings. The primary purpose of Lazarus is to provide continuity of care in a homelike environment. The highest goal of Project Lazarus is to enhance the quality of life of those it serves.

Providence House is Louisiana's largest transitional shelter for homeless families with children, serving approximately 65 families daily. Our independent living program and comprehensive support services strengthen families and help break the cycle of homelessness. Our success rate for these families continues to be 90 percent.

The 67,000 square foot Sci-Port Discovery Center features over 200 hands-on exhibits. Louisiana's only
IMAX Dome Theatre and daily programs for all ages. Themed Discovery Areas highlight the Red River, physiology, physical science and technology. The center also includes a gallery for younger children, gift shop and café. A 25,000 square foot Space Center Expansion is planned for completion in late 2006.
